Privacy Policy for Worp iOS app

This Privacy Policy describes how Worp (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your username and password (stored securely as a hash). If you register as a Venue Owner, we may also collect contact information for your venue.
Location Information. Worp collects your precise location data to power our core features. When the app is in use, location is used to show you nearby venues and calculate distances. In the background, location is used to detect when you arrive at or leave a venue, so we can contribute to real-time crowd counts that benefit all users. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings, though doing so will limit core app functionality.
Usage Information. We collect information about how you interact with the app, such as which venues you view, your search queries, and general app activity. This helps us improve the app.
Device Information. We may collect basic device information including device model, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
We use the information we collect to provide and maintain the app’s core functionality (showing nearby venues, crowd levels, and heat maps), aggregate your presence data with other users’ to generate anonymized crowd counts at venues, improve app performance and user experience, communicate with you about app updates or account-related matters, and detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your location data contributes to aggregate, anonymized crowd counts displayed to other users. Other users cannot see your individual location, identity, or movement history — only the total number of people at each venue.
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the app (cloud hosting, database services, and object storage) under contractual obligations to protect your data, and with legal authorities when required by law or to protect our users.
We retain your account information for as long as you maintain an active account. Location data associated with your user ID is retained for a limited period (up to 90 days) for fraud prevention and service improvement purposes, after which it is deleted or fully anonymized.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Worp is not intended for users under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access your personal information, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and associated data, or opt out of certain data collection or uses. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated to you through the app.
